Delegated Voting for ASR

Another Greta point Opacks. The team ofc don’t have a magic button to implement bullet proof tech, so it may cost the team more in time and resources than the inherit benefit

Yeah you’re not wrong- we do lose a little bit of the democratic process by implementing it

But I thought I’d throw the idea out there to see everyone opinion

Bro I need you to relax. Saying the vote is corrupt or rigged is just gonna get you banned.

I respect your opinion and you’re not the only person who was unhappy with the 70% threshold.

But guess what?

We knew from the very start that 1 JUP = 1 vote

If you want to out vote the whales (then buy more JUP to decentralise voting power)

They invested & staked more $JUP, & with alignment to fairness. They need to have a bigger % of voting power, since they are risking more $JUP locked.

More $JUP = More Voting power = More Risk

This is not about 1Jup=1vote. This is about the 70% threshold.
This was an unilateral decision after Meow said staking only won’t qualify you for the airdrop.
Banning me won’t get you anywhere. This is another way to silence the few that against centralization.
This is not a DAO. This is a comunist party. Don’t say anything against us… will ban you

We’ve outvoted the whales. The numbers are still there.

Don’t tell us we have to buy more Jup. We all did whatever we could.
I personally bought mine on the open market. I’ve been trading on the platform just to be part of the community (the fees are horrible) and to help with the improvement of the platform.
Now, a bunch of :boot: lickers come here to tell me to buy more Jup to pump their bags.
Thanks but no, thanks

Bro, this isn’t about your opinion. It’s about your language and toxic tone.

I’m all for people voicing your opinion but soon as it turns into negativity rather than constructive feedback then you may get flagged

Yes, but do you want 51% happy and 49% not?

For such an important vote, you’d want at least 70% in my opinion

If you don’t get 70% then I’d say it’s not what the community wants.

Btw I’m not a whale and I thought it sucked the first vote didn’t pass but implying the dao is rigged ain’t it

Bro, if you want more voting power buy more JUP.

I bought 90% Of my bag on the market as well.

This is your final warning, calling the dao communist and boot lickers Is disrespectful.

If you wanna give feedback be constructive not toxic.

Delegated voting in a common concept in Dao which does not just ensure that people vote but also ensure:

  1. Consistent voters can have more power boosted by less consistent voters that delegated their vote power to them
  2. Voting without actually doing do directly via delegates ensure Dao members can vote without doing it themselves.

So It’s a welcomed idea.

Bro you can’t even make the difference between users and voting power.
85% of the wallets voted yes for the first Jupuary vote. Your argument is not valid at all.
I’m not an idiot. I understand why the threshold was imposed by the team.
If the whales want to beat the regular users, they should buy more JUP. Ain’t that how it works?

Sure but you misspelled “ACTIVE”

Noted. Thanks for sharing your view on this too!

Oops, am not sure I can edit to correct the misspellings.
Anyways. Thanks!

Your comment comes across as unnecessarily aggressive and dismissive. It’s fine to disagree, but insulting others and assuming bad intentions doesn’t contribute to a productive discussion. If you have concerns about fees or buying pressure, you could express them in a more constructive way without attacking people in the community.

I found very aggressive to be sent to buy more Jup. I don’t tell you what to do, how much to invest and so on.
Regarding everything else… it’s out there.
The numbers are not lying. Nobody cares about the real numbers.
Almost every topic is about ASR and what to do to pump your own bags.
I don’t see any topics about the real users, about the diminishing fees, about how to incentives the traders.
All you guys try to do is to centralize the DAO even more.

Now this is a good proposal!

I am 100% on board with something like this, I have seen it done with other projects as well and think it’s a great idea.

A lot of people hold off from staking because they aren’t as engaged with the space as some of us are and would rather have access to their tokens if they aren’t going to be getting ASR from them.

This will pump up the numbers of staked tokens a lot I would imagine and will also boost governance participation massively also.

I would like to see those who do take on the role of being delegated to getting either % of ASR from delegators as a reward for the responsibility.

OR

A % boost to their own ASR based on how many tokens have been delegated to them.

“Missing votes shouldn’t mean missing ASR”

ASR rewards voters. If you can get ASR by not directly voting, what’s the point?

Delegating to someone else would give unnecessary power to some certain individuals and would defeat the essence of vote.

An individual with a large number of delegates would easily determine the outcome of a vote even if the people who delegated to him would want to choose something else.
