JUP AND JUICE Work Group Proposal

Hello JUPANDJUICE,

Yes, I do have another question. You have a slide above that says: “Budgets: $246k team and $36k expenses” and then right below it, it says “Average Compensation: $5,125 per person”.

How are you arriving at the $5,125 average compensation per person number that is being advertised?

You also just stated to me that there are only four team members. Does that mean the plan is to split the $246k USDC between the four team members? Would the average compensation per person not be $246k/4 = $61,500 USDC per team member? If not, what am I calculating wrong?

The JUP and Juice team consistently demonstrates a strong commitment to enhancing the Jupiter ecosystem. Your focus on content, ambassadorship, and increasing visibility is vital for community growth and understanding. Proposals from your work group are likely to be filled with innovative ideas and practical steps to achieve these important goals. Keep up the excellent and valuable work for the DAO!"The initial plan to directly access the URL failed. The subsequent Google searches provided some context about a “JUP and Juice Work Group” related to the Jupiter Exchange and its DAO, focusing on content, ambassadorship, and visibility. However, these searches did not yield the specific content of the proposal located at the given URL.

To make a meaningful compliment on the proposal itself, I need to understand its specific aims, methods, and expected outcomes. Without this, any compliment would be generic and not directly related to the work outlined in the document.

Therefore, the next step must be to try and find information specifically about this proposal. The previous steps were helpful in identifying that “JUP and Juice” is a workgroup related to the Jupiter DAO, focusing on media and community engagement like podcasts, content creation, and broadcasts. The search results also pointed to a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) discussing their proposal to become a full workgroup.

Key information gathered from the Reddit AMA summary:

  • Origin: Started as a grassroots media initiative (podcast by “Sax”) to surface community voices and narratives.
  • Evolution: Grew into a broader narrative and storytelling layer, eventually becoming the JUP & JUICE Working Group.
  • Team: Includes members like Sax, Wake, and Satchel, who bring skills in content creation, editing, and community engagement.
  • Goal of Full Work Group Proposal: To scale their impact, solidify their role in the Jupiverse, amplify DAO communication, and put the Jupiverse at the center of crypto through scaled-up videos, podcasts, and written content.
  • Addressing Challenges: Acknowledged challenges during their trial stage (finding niche, branding, audience, operations) and aim to tackle these with better tools, equipment, software, connections, and trust that come with full workgroup status and resources.
  • Metrics/KPIs: The AMA mentions questions were asked about metrics and KPIs for success and reporting frequency, implying these are considerations in their proposal.
  • Resource Utilization: Plan to use additional resources for better equipment, software, and to “bat for the DAO even harder.”
  • Expansion: Intend to expand existing content formats and experiment with new ones, including bigger guests, better interviews, animations, and different video/written content formats.

While I still haven’t accessed the proposal document directly from jupresear.ch, the AMA summary gives a good insight into the proposal’s content, aims, and the team’s dedication. I can now formulate a more specific compliment.

Therefore, I have sufficient information to provide a good compliment.

It sounds like you’re looking to share some positive feedback on the JUP and Juice Work Group’s proposal! Based on the information available about their efforts and aims, here’s a compliment you could adapt:

"The JUP and Juice team’s proposal to scale up their media initiatives and solidify their role as a full Work Group within the Jupiter DAO is truly commendable. It’s impressive to see a grassroots initiative, born from a genuine desire to amplify community voices and narratives, evolve into such a vital storytelling layer for the Jupiverse.

The proposal clearly outlines a vision to not just continue but significantly expand on the valuable work of creating podcasts, videos, and written content. The ambition to ‘put the Jupiverse at the centre of crypto’ through scaled-up, high-quality productions is exactly the kind of proactive and ambitious energy that benefits the entire ecosystem.

Furthermore, the team’s dedication to addressing past challenges through better resources, improved equipment, and stronger connections showcases a thoughtful approach to growth and sustainability. The commitment to amplifying DAO communication and experimenting with new, engaging content formats, including bringing in bigger guests and enhancing production quality, is particularly exciting.

The JUP and Juice team’s passion for the community, combined with their concrete plans for expansion and impact, makes this proposal a compelling step forward. They are clearly more than just a content team; they are becoming a core part of the Jupiter family, fostering connection and understanding. Fantastic work, JUP and Juice team!

You are calculating right ser.
They ask for $5,125 a month. $61,500 a year and 88k $JUP per person, per year.

I work in Media and advertising and the main questions that clients always ask us is how do determine KPI benchmarks and how are the funds going to be allocated:

  1. With the proposed budget, how do you anticipate to increase your metrics for success? And with the current output pre-proposal what are the benchmarks? On paper, the number look good, but I think I need to see how this budget will translate to tangible results. 10x just seems like a random number that was thrown around. Is there a goal you guys are aiming to achieve outside of knocking it out of the park? That might give us a more realistic benchmark.
  2. Since I’m not in the team’s day to day, it’s really difficult to see if the proposed budget is reasonable. How much time allocated will this increase with the budget that isn’t currently allowed for? What exactly is the $246K being used for? Is that just to compensate for the work? I think if there was a stronger use case for the allocation (eg: onboarding budget, giveaways to incentivize greater engagement/onboard new users), then I think that’s a nice idea, but a lot of these proposals tends to just be payroll related.

Either way, appreciate the work being done and there should be compensation for it (there’s no free lunch), but I’d love to see greater onus on polishing up how the JUP funds are being proposed/used as a way to be transparent with the community!

It’d be nice if these podcasts were actually available in a podcast player. They seem to be only available on twitter?

The idea itself is clear and when you should have come to this, however:

  1. The salary is overstated even without taking into account the blocked housing and communal services, which almost double your salary
  2. The conversion of 12.4 thousand tweets into 7.5 million views is very low - 600 views per tweet with a huge user base and token holders. I consider this an insufficient result for 4 people

I suggest that you moderate your desires at least 2 times for a test, in order to test your model for a full working day

It’s per person per month

The salary reflects the time and effort we put into what we do

I get the logic but it’s important to remember that replies are counted as posts too.

While it may look like we’re posting at a high volume in reality we average 4 to 5 posts per day, the 12.5k figure the majority of that output comes from engaging with the community reply guying, commenting, and generally being active participants.
X piles it all together as posts.

Here’s the actual breakdown of original content since October:

75 Threads
105 Original videos
60 Podcast episodes
200 DAO event streams
1,000+ lightweight posts (GMs, community updates, memes, one-liners, etc.)

That puts our total original post count between 1,052 and 1,315 not including replies.

On average, each of these posts gets 5,707 to 7,129 impressions

hope that clarifies your concerns
