LFG Launchpad Introduction: Bitcoin <> Zeus Network <> Solana

A lot of replies sound like bots, which is odd and a little concerning.

However if your protocol is decentralized, meaning your team/devs nor any other entity, can stop wrapping and unwrapping of BTC from either blockchain… Then it is a huge development. We have seen other types of bridges but they’re usually centralized and the flow of tokens/locked assets can be controlled. I understand some entities may choose to implement their own version of sanctions on transactions, but a robust network will not have a central point of control or failure, so other entities in the network will allow for funds to be unwrapped. This is incredibly important to consider when attempting to bring the Bitcoin users into Solana. They will not want your company to have full control over their UTXOs. Ensure you structure your wrapping/unwrapping in a way that absolves your team of responsibility for managing wallets that wrap and unwrap assets.

Hi, sounds like a really interesting concept
I have a few questions

  1. Will Zeus network essentially be a dapp communicating with both BTC and solana or are we talking about Zeus being a layer 2 bridge where people are locking their BTC/Solana to deposit into Zeus and then trade it on the Zeus network?

  2. If it is its own chain, is it based on SVM or something else?

  3. How is the zBTC peg managed? When someone locks their BTC is this just essentially sitting in a multi-sig bridging wallet considering BTC doesnt really have smart contract capbilities? Would love to know how this type of bridge is secured as any cross chain bridging always has a security risk around this area

Look forward to some more info. Very interesting concept

How do you rectify that staking Bitcoin and relinquishing self custody of it goes against every bitcoin maxi’s principles and beliefs? Bitcoin is not a proof of stake blockchain and what purpose does using your bitcoin on solana serve.

Zeus has a strong user community, maybe you can join the Zeus discord to learn about the situation

Having supported Justin, Jim, and their team over the years, I’ve witnessed firsthand their capacity for setting and achieving ambitious goals.

Their track record gives me confidence in their ability to execute the grand goal of bridging the gap between Solana and Bitcoin through the Zeus Network.

If they succeed in executing their vision, it will potentially unlock substantial liquidity from Bitcoin into the Solana ecosystem, it’ll create new opportunities for developers to build innovative protocols on top of Zeus, AND they’ll convert a bunch of Bitcoin Maxis into Solana Enjoyers.

From an investment point of view, I find Zeus particularly exciting as a Jupiter Launchpad contender. It serves not only as an opportunity for JUP cadets to invest early in an incredibly ambitious project but also as a chance for Solana natives to gain exposure to a Bitcoin DeFi infrastructure play.

In the ever-evolving landscape of blockchain technology, infrastructure plays indeed hold significant potential for both short-term and long-term success. One that unlocks liquidity and interoperability between Bitcoin, the world’s leading cryptocurrency, and Solana’s high-performance blockchain is highly destined to win. Zeus Network serves as a crucial permissionless communication layer unlocking a vast pool of capital previously inaccessible to DeFi protocols built on Solana. This integration not only enhances liquidity within the Solana ecosystem but also expands the utility and accessibility of Bitcoin in the broader DeFi landscape. The Zeus team has gone further to demonstrate Zeus Network’s capabilities by building the first dApp, Apollo which has recently concluded its Alpha testing. Once this is said and done, what we can expect is powerful dApps launching on top of Zeus bringing tons of liquidity to Solana benefitting the entire ecosystem and definitely Jupiter. You do have my full support Zeus team. LFG!!!

At least 75% of the replies on this thread are obvious bots.

If our responses on this forum are already limited by new account members for the first 5 replies, to where they have to be manually approved by moderators before they are displayed, that’s even more concerning, that they managed to make their way through this approval process.

Also, the lack of transparency by the Zeus team is additionally something that is a cause for concern, to me. This thread (much the same as the responses from the aforementioned bot accounts) is full of buzzwords and marketing speak, but little actual information that is important to those of us who aren’t just moonboy types – namely, technical data on how you plan to achieve what you’re proposing, information on the VCs involved and your valuations/raises and information on team members aside from the 3 people who were named, none of whom match the description of what was given in the OP.

I hope I am wrong, but I am super skeptical.

Do you mind sharing with me more in detail which comments you think are bots, and why?

The Moderators direction is to control the amount of shilling, but not outright censor folks who might be genuine

i do like this, i was in one of the first twitter spaces they joined and i did like what was said,
more than that i did like the team member that did all the talking,
in life i believed what i can read from people more than what is on a post or whitepaper,
listening to a human voice and how it reacts to questions is gold,
GL with this i will be watching

I listened with great interest to the Jup 2 Planetary Call via Twitter, to hear about the Zeus Network. This is a hugely ambitious project, and I appreciated that the speaker touched upon even wider, longer-term ambitions (as much as he could, without getting his wrists slapped)! The potential to draw in liquidity from Bitcoin is undeniable, although I was surprised when he said, regarding security, that everything would be fine as long as Solana didn’t ‘go down’, as I was expecting others in the call to ask, if that ever happened, what security measures have you/will you have in place? Solana occasionally (less frequently now, does go down) so knowing what would happen if a reset was needed, is an important question. However, that aside (for now) the use of the Zeus network for Defi dapps is hugely impressive. The roadmap is similar, and there is clearly a highly knowledgeable and capable team at the helm. One aspect though, that I remain a little torn on is the BTC layer 2 element (e.g. stacks) as I am admittedly a bit biased against it (atm) as well being aware of Anatoly’s global atomic position. However, this is a very strong project for the LFG launchpad.

Indeed, it would be unfair to punish people whose authentic way of expressing themselves is to spontaneously use LLM to enhance the quality of their words.

This is a great question! Can someone from the Zeus team please respond to this? It has been 4 days and this is a very basic question.

Tbh seems like a challenging solution. The tech is a bit over my head but would love to learn (perhaps some better explainers for technical but new to these concepts would be nice).

Would be nice if this becomes a reality.
Great stuff.

Can someone please explain how jup voters will have access to the upcoming Apollo Testnet commencing tomorrow 27/03/24? Will there be a link in here for us, or some link directing us to this testnet for us to join this amazing event?
