Realms mostly sucks. I’m grateful that Solana built something as a shared resource for protocols but Realms leaves a heck of a lot to be desired.
Balancer built and maintains Snapshot over in EVM land (main platform for token voting).
Dinero built and maintains Hidden Hand (the main bribing platform).
Both are way ahead of Realms, and mean that many projects can implement token voting and vote bribing (both things we see little of on Solana to date).
Voting is fun and allows projects to engage their communities in deeper and more crypto first ways.
If you could link voting to LP positions this would be even more impactful (think how veBAL and maBEETS are both liquidity AND governance). Opening that up to many projects to spin up voting for would be a properly new product on Solana.
dev.fun has able to open up the design space by simply linking tokens/pump pages to vibe coding platform. It’s not a deep integration at all really.
Actually linking user participation to tokens/LPs would be even more of a step change and something that could really help coordinate these pools of capital being created around new assets on chain.
