Cat themed gone too far?

This Needs to Stop

Lately, a trend has been growing across our community and maybe it’s time we take a step back and reflect.

Everywhere you look, there’s a wave of childish cat animations, anime-themed cartoons, and hyper-cutesy branding. Yes, we are proudly a cat-themed project, and that’s part of our unique identity. But have we gone a little too far?

Crypto isn’t a playground. It’s a serious space where adults are making serious financial decisions, often involving large amounts of capital. Investors and users today are sophisticated, and they expect the platforms they trust to reflect that maturity.

If Jupiter truly aims to be the leader in DeFi, we must ensure our branding matches the gravity of what we’re building:

[details=“Summary”]
Which is:
[/• A serious protocol.

• A serious community.

• A serious future.]

We’re not saying to abandon the spirit and fun that makes Jupiter special far from it. But perhaps it’s time to Recalibrate. Clean, simple, and professional design can still reflect creativity without sacrificing credibility.

Solflare’s recent rebrand is a perfect example: clear lines, mature colors, simple elegance all while still feeling welcoming.

Maybe it’s time for us to tidy things up too.

Focus more on showcasing our products with clarity.

Let the strength of Jupiter speak for itself.

Serious technology deserves serious presentation.

Let’s keep the heart, but sharpen the face we show to the world.

Who else think our space cat branding has gone a little too far?

Agreed with Lochie on this take.
They said, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” But i think we’ve gone too far with the play part, we need to be more serious moving forward,

So Less Play and More serious with everything we do within the jupiverse.
we’ve likes of bonk, solflare etc, so, A serious community, A serious protocol, and A serious future.

Yes, @lochie2001

Let’s focus on what really matters.

Focusing only on closed groups, Discord chats, memes, and cute cats won’t create real utility or generate true traction for JUP.
Memes and cute cats are fun, but they won’t take JUP to the next level.

Now it’s time to build something with real-world impact, with true utility and commercial value.

Let’s build something that lasts and earns the world’s respect.
It’s time for Jupiter to grow into a serious force in the space.

We’re too playful to the extent that team even proposed to change Jupiter logo from Extraordinary planet logo to cat logo. That is not even FUN vote, We’re planet ready to conquer the space and universe of decentralised system in crypto space. We’re acting like a cat because of meow but now we need to focus and be serious in playing out game at jupiverse. More classic designs without cat in it will attract more people, they we know we’re not here for fun but to change the direction on existing crypto space centralised system in a decentralised way. Jupiverse is not a meme community but we adopted cat just for fun not for the face of the jupiverse.

Maybe a little. It’s not the most professional aspect.

This coming from a guy with a cartoon cat as his profile picture? Look in the mirror. Change starts with you

We have Miao, with Jupiter’s sweetest kitten, and you want to delete her? When will you reopen the discussion on neutral voting? Cash, if we don’t create something useful that stimulates the mind, we’ll all end up in the madhouse.

The community was born with a playful and creative soul, but this doesn’t mean that we should lose sight of the balance between fun and seriousness. A strong identity can evolve without giving up its roots, and perhaps this is the real point of the matter.

No offense to anyone, but if the future is only elegance, rigor and obedience, we risk losing the special touch that made all this unique. So, instead of deleting something, why not create real proposals, opportunities that engage the Mind, that bring benefits to everyone and that keep the soul of Jupiter alive and easily recognizable?

Im not saying get rid of the cat theme all together. Im saying its gotten out of hand and looks like a cringe childrens playbook.

The point is not only the theme, but the way it is managed; when a community focuses excessively on a single aspect, it risks closing instead of evolving. A strong identity is important, but it should leave room for new ideas, allowing natural growth and a more open discussion; perhaps it is time to reconsider the balance between what characterizes us and what could further enrich us.

Couldnt agree more. Its really really offputting and will ensure mass adoption never comes. Someone like Musk or god help you Altman will just copy this and drop the ridiculous childish nonsense and it will be over. If someone produced this with an adult feel and decent documentation and literally 1% of the value, you would never hear of Jupiter again.

I’m glad I’m not the only one over it :joy:

Changing Jupiter’s image because it looks childish is the least of our concerns
The real immaturity is criticizing an idea when it is shared by someone unknown then idolizing it as soon as Cash repeats it
The space kitten is just a symbol and removing it now would be like admitting we no longer know who we are
If our identity wavers so does the strength of the token
It is better to focus on being mature in ideas not just in appearance
We need consistency not fan club cosplay

That’s not the point I’m making.

Cool we can keep the space cat, I’m saying some of the designs are getting too childish looking
