I worked alone for three months, ran over 20+ AMAs, produced content like music to engage users and grew that community with no assistance. I don’t really care what’s going on now, but I’m not going to let someone steal credit to fluff their numbers.

If you’re trying to discredit my contribution that’s fine, but numbers are numbers and history is history. I did not simply open a subreddit, I set the template for what these boys are doing.

Also I want to point out that I am not against this proposal, I just wanted to make sure history wasn’t being erased.

im only talking about the metrics being used and discussed as part of this proposal. i said i wasnt discrediting anyone and i acknowledge the work.

theres no way to attribute the metrics given to the work/results. if i opened the official subreddit and did none of that, who’s to say we wouldn’t have the same results?

@kwo
Oh, my bad. I was kind of confused by your response.

I’d disagree—all posts have metrics that you can correlate with the subreddit. You can definitely identify and attribute engagement. I don’t see those metrics in this proposal, but they can definitely be collected and added.

Subreddits initially don’t grow on their own; they have to be established, and after that, you’ll see a parabolic curve over time as the community begins automatically gaining followers. I’d say I left it in an established state where it was attracting followers automatically through the algorithm, but these guys can strengthen their pitch by documenting their post engagement.

engagement metrics are also not a reliable metric for work performed because as the community scales they are to naturally grow as well. the engagement metrics should be used to compare effectiveness of different platforms and can be used to eliminate or grow as necessary

alternative metrics: # moderator actions performed, frequency of AMAs hosted

these can be compared across the different cawg programs and also showcase a stable community

the metric given for the catdets ppp hour is a good one: 50+ weekly

That’s a KPI, not a metric. Additionally, moderation actions measure community stability, not growth. Growth is driven by engagement, which can be directly measured and attributed. Also, moderation actions can be inflated—every post has an approve button, and clicking it multiple times inflates the count without adding real value. The better question is: how many of these actions are actually substantive?

kpi vs metric is semantics in this discussion

thats the point. how is a wg responsible for the growth of a platform that is the social network for a growing platform? showing the growth isnt showing the work being done on the platform so i suggest an alternative metric to be used.

It’s not semantics—KPIs and metrics serve different purposes. Engagement directly reflects the work done to grow a community. If you think growth isn’t an indicator of work, why was it included in the proposal as proof of impact? It’s also been a key metric cited in various past proposals. You can’t have it both ways.

i didnt write the proposal and this is me taking issue with it with the present proposal.

previous proposals dont establish a precedent.

i am one voice speaking up in a dao

Thank you for the conversation. While I disagree with the logic you presented on a technical level, I do think discussions like this are valuable. Always good to have different perspectives. That said, you’re ultimately responsible for your framing and narrative. If you define your campaign by growth, it’s unreasonable not to expect scrutiny on that aspect. If you define it by stability, the same applies. At the end of the day, it’s all about communication.

so what is the argument for using growth as a data point in the first year? they all start from zero users drawing from a platform that has many users

I vote for, and I fully support this team and their endeavors:heart_hands::heart::green_heart::ringed_planet:LEGENDS

The proposal seems promising, with a clear focus on building a decentralized, self-sustaining community. The emphasis on culture, recognition, and using $JUP as a community currency is a great way to ensure long-term engagement. Since the team has already shown success in “Cat Year 0,” I support this proposal to help drive further growth and development within the Jupiverse. It’s a solid plan :green_heart:

definitely the most well written proposal I have seen
the jup ask is very low too, but still a sizeable bonus.
I like all that.

I think PPP sessions could be summed up in a thread for those that can’t make them when they have some great alpha.

This seems very reasonable and I’m sure CaWG would address some of the points raised in here as well when it comes to what the guidelines and structure there would be while rewarding the Catdets and CoCs. I’m sure even without a monetary incentive, the people holding these roles are very selfless and contribute a lot to the community, but of course, seeing their efforts being rewarded would surely go a long way. I’m pretty excited to see how CaWG is going to make it happen and align the community in better way to $JUP and Jupiverse!
