I’d like to see that we are able to trigger DAO votes from the community.

One sense of the community is that all the votes are owned by the team, and managed in a back room.

To change this perception, I’d like to propose that DAO members with at least 5000 Jup are enabled to submit proposals for voting directly.

This threshold is defined to be set where a member will have aligned financial incentives, but not an amount that is prohibitively high for mass participation.

I’d like to limit this to votes on proposals how to use the litterbox funds, and a clear NO option must be available for all spend proposals. The more proposals from the community, the BETTER. Let’s unleash a flood of ideas and let the community SHINE

To update to proposal, I’d recommend we put a frame on limits for litterbox proposals that can be submitted for vote by anyone:

5000 min Jup to submit a proposal

Litterbox spend proposals: minimum $100k value of proposal

Maximum value: $5m value of proposal

Ceiling to be lifted to $10m value after 10 successful approved proposals.

I posted this in discord, but will post it here for visibility.

I think just having 5K jup to submit a proposal is a bit low, it should be curated with a process like so:

  1. Min 5K JUP to submit a pending proposal.
  2. JUP holders curate it by voting “yes we should have an official vote on this on vote.jup.ag”.
  3. Once a threshold is reached (e.g. 100M JUP votes needed), pending proposal is submitted to team for review.
  4. If team approve the proposal, it appears on vote.jup.ag
