Proposal: Integrating SWIFT Transfers with Lending Strategies on Jupiter
Summary
This proposal aims to directly connect the traditional financial system (TradFi) with the decentralized finance (DeFi) ecosystem on the Solana blockchain by integrating international bank transfers via SWIFT with Jupiter’s lending products.
Through this integration, any user in the world could send an international bank transfer (via SWIFT) and, within minutes, see their funds converted into USDC or SOL and automatically deposited into interest-bearing lending strategies on Jupiter Lend — all in a transparent, secure, and seamless manner, without manual interaction with exchanges or complex crypto wallets.
Problem
Despite DeFi’s evolution, most users still face significant barriers to entering the ecosystem, such as:
- Regulatory and banking barriers
- Technical complexity for beginners
- Need for stablecoins or native tokens
- Dependence on centralized exchanges (CEXs)
- Lack of real interoperability between TradFi and DeFi
This keeps both institutional investors and everyday users on the sidelines of what DeFi has to offer.
The Solution
We propose the creation of a SWIFT-to-DeFi bridge that enables:
- Entry via international bank transfer (SWIFT)
- Automatic conversion into Solana stablecoins like USDC and SOL
- Direct allocation into lending or liquidity strategies via Jupiter Lend
The entire operation occurs in a simple, user-friendly, auditable, and regulation-compliant flow.
How It Works
- The user accesses a web or app interface and receives payment instructions.
- They make an international transfer via SWIFT with a unique identifier.
- A licensed custodial partner receives the funds in an international bank account.
- The funds are converted into crypto via providers like Circle, Ramp, or Transak.
- The tokens are transferred to the user’s Solana wallet and automatically deposited into a Jupiter Lend strategy (e.g., USDC lending pool).
- Yield generation starts immediately, with no need to use CEXs or manually configure contracts or swaps.
Infrastructure and Compliance
- KYC/AML procedures managed by the regulated custodian
- Fiat-to-crypto conversion handled by licensed partners (Circle, Ramp, Transak, Helio)
- Institutional-grade custody (Fireblocks, Anchorage, etc.)
- Secure and audited DeFi strategies managed by Jupiter Lend
Why Solana and Jupiter?
Solana offers:
- Near-instant transaction finality
- Extremely low operating costs
- Deep liquidity in USDC, SOL, and staking tokens
- High-performance DeFi with real composability
Jupiter delivers:
- The leading swap and routing infrastructure on Solana
- A modern, accessible, and scalable lending interface
- Products designed for both institutional and retail use, focused on efficiency and automation
The combination of Solana + Jupiter is ideal to receive TradFi capital in a fluid, secure, and global way.
Similar Projects (for reference)
While no protocol currently integrates SWIFT remittances directly with DeFi strategies, some are building important building blocks:
Ramp: Entry via bank/card (including SWIFT), but no connection to vaults
Transak: Similar to Ramp, fiat-to-crypto conversion with SWIFT support
Circle APIs: Connect banks to USDC, but no integration with lending
Monerium: Issues euro-backed stablecoins with IBAN accounts, but still far from real DeFi
This proposal goes further: creating a direct path from bank to decentralized lending protocol, with Jupiter Lend as the final destination.
Expected Impact
- Dramatically expands access to DeFi for global users and institutions
- Lowers technical and regulatory barriers to onboarding into Solana
- Increases liquidity in Jupiter Lend pools
- Positions Jupiter as the official on-ramp for institutional DeFi
- Brings TradFi capital into the Solana ecosystem without friction
Next Steps
- Secure a financial institution partner offering SWIFT-compliant international accounts
- Integrate on-ramp APIs (Ramp, Circle, Transak)
- Develop contracts and infrastructure for automatic fund routing into Jupiter Lend
- Build a simple, accessible, responsive interface (web and mobile)
- Launch a closed beta for testing with users and institutional investors
