I’ll try my best to answer these since you asked nicely, but lets also be conscious about the topic at hand, which is the DevRel Working Group Trial.
The Jupiter team envisioned thousands of workgroups when they instantiated the DAO. I don’t think that’s realistic, but we have a relatively small amount of workgroups all working within their own fields to improve the DAO and the conditions of success for Jupiter as a product. It’s important to know the distinction between working within the Jupiter team, and working in the Jupiter DAO. The Jupiter DAO hires people through the workgroup model, whereas the Jupiter team hires people in a more conventional way. The Jupiter DAO employs a horizontal structure of meritocracy wherein you can work largely autonomously within your field along side other groups doing the same.
We are actually working on several things and auditing the whole process of voting and issues in relation to voting as we speak. Expect some updates on that in the next few weeks where we’ll try to improve the voting experience and relevance in the DAO.
The Jupiter team funded the DAO with 10m USDC and 100m Jup tokens on genesis, and have committed to ‘refill’ back up to this level once a year. More info here: First DAO Funding
Okay, so there’s a bit to unpack here. First and foremost, the DAO is undergoing a legal restructuring as we speak where we will establish a fully fledged legal entity for the DAO and all relevant paperwork thereof.
As for favoritism, there is none. The work group trials that go to a vote are initiatives that have applied to our grants system, worked tirelessly for months to prove their worth and finally arrived at a trial WG proposal wherein they will be able to showcase their skillset and usefulness to the DAO as a whole.
Take DevRel for instance, since this a response to their proposal. They’ve built Catalytics, The Jupiverse Kit and is maintaining most of the developer support in discord, which is a huge undertaking. It’s an effort that directly increases the Jupiter teams availability because Devrel is assisting the support and relations efforts.
