Our DAO is amazing, but some things are missing: We need structure.
I mean: clear responsibilities, hierarchies and representations showing who is responsible for which areas, which working group reports to whom, and who performs the controlling.
No investor wants no unpredictability. There are enough unpredictable things in the world already. A DAO is not „cool“ because it is „crazy“ or „unpredictable“ – it is „cool“, because it is routines are planable.
This means that planetary meetings also take place, when there are sick days. It means: they still take place every Wednesday.
Votings do not happen whenever someone feels like it, but at set frequent times, for example only once a month, so that ASR planning can be better done by investors.
In crypto, 30 days is an eternity. If no one knows the value of weighted votes per month, then those votes are worthless. The focus should be on what generates more value, higher price, and thereby value for JUP.
Sample use case: $hema allocation. It was PERFECT. Some kind of LFG launchpad 2.0, or catpad. It was an incentive, investors had the opportunity to get allocated. $JUP stakers according to the amount of $JUP staked only. PLEASE MAKE IT A PROCESS AND MORE OF THAT (walletconnect be.)
On the topic of money and voting proposals:
A CEO is paid based on performance. The company’s owners or DAO investors are oriented around that: The core team. They approve a total annual budget. They don’t care WHO is hired in assistant, marketing, or sales, and especially not WHAT each person earns.
That’s because this generates internal friction in every organization and its the duty of the core team which earns enough to get the best talent to the DAO.
Transparency ≠ Holy Grail
Transparency shouldn’t be worn like a halo. We’ve already seen that not all parts of Jupiter are fully transparent. And thats totally ok. So it’s not crucial to explain in detail what each junior staff member earns.
What’s important is that:
• JUP incentives are only given in exceptional cases
• Most compensation for working group members should be in USD
• Many professionals would deliver the same performance for USD salaries
• This should be considered going forward, so DAO becomes more attractive again for small and large investors.
