I was keen to get a regional page for Wales set up. I did and it was taken down for breaking X rules on impersonation. I reached out for help to some key community members, no response.
I was keen to hold a regional event alongside, I applied for a grant (as a way of opening the door and getting access to some material that I could use to ensure that the venue was on brand more than anything)
I used the material available and centred my proposal around it to ensure that I would be doing what was expected. $500 that would have barly covered the venue hire and to be honest I only put that as it wouldn’t let me progress without putting an amount in.
The grant was declined.
I comment on x posts and engage as much as possible, little to zero engagement. Working groups that were voted in for by others like me seemingly unable to even drop a like!!!
It seems that unless you have a following, can spend 24/7 on X or attend real life events, nobody wants to know.
That is fine, I will still use the products, maintain my 100% voting record and onboard locally without broadcasting it!!!
The amount of money was irrelevant. I was looking to get some help with a small amount of branding like what I have seen others use. I included most of the points that were in the help sheet to ensure that I would be doing what was expected e.g. take photos, perhaps include an onboarding booth, some refreshments, present what Jupiter is and why it’s important. There is a huge gap, I literally have 2 friends that I can speak to about Jupiter and web3 yet I know another 3 that have been scammed so i’m coming from an education angle while getting trying to get people onboarded safely.
Never knew “Cymru” was the Welsh name for Wales — ya learn somethin’ new everyday!
I can see one issue @GreyHairedTrade and that’s using the Jupiter logo as your group’s logo. If you look at the other regional groups they’re using variations of the Jupiter logo but not the logo on its own. That can constitute impersonation for sure.
As @lochie2001 mentioned try to link up with CAWG or other regional groups and see if they can offer some advice as to how best to approach this.
Glad that you learnt something new. My mistake with the picture perhaps and i’ll own it, that said I’ve seen numerous accounts doing the same. Might have just been unlucky.
Thank’s for the advice, I’ve decided to take a step back for now but I may revisit later.
