Chinese Initiative Regional Grant Conclusion & Report

Chinese Initiative Regional Grant Conclusion Report

Intro
As the first DAO-approved regional grant, the Chinese Initiative has now concluded, and we’re excited to present the outcomes of our work over the past three and a half months. This report serves as an aggregate and description of the activities, updates, and accomplishments of the Chinese Initiative during this period – through a series of efforts, we’ve expanded Jupiter’s influence and engagement in the Chinese-speaking region while refining better approaches and directions for future growth. We will also move on to the next stage of applying to the DAO to become a trial working group.

This report consists of 3 sections:

  1. Vision of the Chinese Initiative
  2. Achievements Since Receiving the Grant
  3. Conclusion & Future Plans

Vision of the Chinese Initiative

Challenges:
Language Barriers Limits Community Engagement
Currently, Jupiter’s official communications are primarily in English, which creates barriers for users not well versed in English. This not only limits the timely spreading of important information but also affects users’ understanding and sense of connection with Jupiter’s core values and culture.

Lack of Systematic Localized Community Operations
Chinese-speaking regions lack a structured approach to local community management and engagement. As a result, Jupiter’s online and offline regional influence has yet to reach it’s potential. The absence of active user interaction further restricts the brand’s growth in multilingual markets.

Low Engagement Among Chinese Contributors, Untapped Potential
Currently, promising content creators, developers, and other contributors within the Chinese community have not been effectively identified or incentivized. Due to a lack of Chinese-language support and long-term engagement incentives—coupled with the fact that key resources (such as funding programs) are primarily English-centric—Chinese contributors struggle to sustain their involvement.

This initiative aims to change this status quo.

Our Vision is to establish a foundation for Jupiter’s development in the Chinese market through the following approaches:

  1. Eliminating Language Barriers
Providing accurate and timely translations of announcements, guides, and educational materials to ensure seamless accessibility. Operating dedicated Chinese social media accounts and community platforms to enable users to communicate in their native language.
  2. Expanding Reach Through Events to Activate the Community
Hosting online and offline meetups to strengthen connections with community members, traders, developers, and ecosystem partners.
  3. Strengthening Brand Influence & Spreading Jupiter’s Culture
Producing original Chinese content to introduce Jupiter’s products and DAO culture, while identifying and onboarding high-quality content creators and builders to grow the Chinese community together.

Our Commitment to Sustainable Growth

We do not view this as a short-term campaign, but rather as laying the essential foundation for Jupiter’s long-term sustainability in one of the most critical cryptocurrency markets. Every initiative is designed to remove barriers, build trust, and create the conditions for organic community expansion.

The Chinese Initiative has been operational since receiving its initial grant on February 12, 2025. Originally set to conclude by March 25, the plan was extended due to reforms in the DAO voting system, which temporarily paused public voting for trial working groups. As a result, we have continued operations for over three and a half months while awaiting the next phase of governance decisions.

During this time, we have maintained consistent community engagement and market development efforts, ensuring Jupiter’s presence continues to grow in the Chinese-speaking ecosystem. We remain committed to this mission, as we await for the next stage.

4. Jupiter X Solana Bounty: here

We collaborated with the Solana Chinese community to launch an online writing campaign aimed at discovering and expanding more contributors, while further spreading Jupiter’s core concepts and values through high-quality content. In total, we received 34 in-depth Chinese articles and videos about Jupiter, with total views exceeding 80,000+. Additionally, we rewarded outstanding creators a total of 1,500 USDC and Catstanbul merchandise packs to incentivize more community members to participate in content creation and join the Jupiverse.

Since receiving the initial DAO Grant, we have published a cumulative total of 109 original content pieces, which includes videos, articles, and high quality social media posts, covering multiple aspects of the Jupiter ecosystem. Furthermore, we have maintained an average daily update rate of 1-3 tweets, achieving a combined impression count of 430,000+. Community members have created over 100 pieces of content, fully demonstrating the passion and creativity of the Jupiter Chinese community. To further enhance community interaction and participation, we also conducted a merchandise giveaway, distributing 16 Catstanbul merchandise packages to cat lovers worldwide.

Other Items

  1. Since February, we have been translating the Planetary Call and JUP Rally meetings each week in a timely manner, summarizing the key points, and posting them on Twitter and Discord, so that every member of the Chinese community can access firsthand information.

  2. Translation of DAO proposals into Chinese and reminding community members to participate in voting.

  3. Designed T-shirts and gacha (capsule) toys for the Chinese community to strengthen sense of belonging and engagement.

  4. Host 1–2 online giveaway events per month to encourage community interaction and gather user feedback on product usage.

  5. Maintaining and operating the Twitter and Discord channels daily. Our two-person team respectively manages Twitter and Discord, each being online and available for 12+ hours each day.

  6. Help users resolve issues with product usage and assist other projects in using the API, promptly relaying user-reported issues back to the team.

  7. We have identified and supported contributors within the community, granting members the “Catdets” role.

Core Team Introduction: Jupiter Chinese Initiative

Lead: Cassie

  • 3 years of experience as an internet app founder
  • 4 years of experience in traditional finance
  • 2 years as a crypto media head

Active in the Solana ecosystem, Cassie joined the Jupiter community in November 2024 following a Chinese-language interview with Meow, and has since become a core contributor. Over six months, she established and operated the Jupiter Chinese Twitter account, onboarded several high-quality Chinese builders into the ecosystem, produced large amounts of original Chinese-language content, and helped organize three offline events for the Chinese community.

Member: Enna

Involved in the Jupiter community since 2022 and became more deeply engaged in 2024. Currently serves as a moderator for the Jupiter Chinese Discord channel, responsible for answering community questions. In the future Enna will also manage the Jupiter Chinese Youtube Channel.

Cassie and Enna are Full time members and are typically available for every day of the week, each putting in over 10-12 hours cumulative.

Conclusion & Future Plans

Although the grant phase ended in March, the remaining funds are still being used for the group’s daily operations. The members have yet to withdraw any salaries for themselves from the grant. We have submitted a proposal for the next phase, and the development plan for the next four months is roughly as follows under the below section.

What Will We Do Next (partial):

  1. Host monthly meetups/offline events in Chinese-speaking regions with events revolving around different themes, including but not limited to community gatherings, pro trader meetups, and developer workshops.

  2. Produce a Chinese series of podcasts with team members, and Chinese-speaking influencers who align with Jupiter’s culture, to give Chinese community members a deeper understanding of the product’s future, and better involve Chinese contributors in building the Jupiverse.

  3. Partner with Solana Chinese communities, university groups, and local clubs to bring more new users to Jupiter. By working closely with these groups, we can grow our user base faster, get more people trading, and help Jupiter continuously innovate.

  4. Establish a Chinese community honor system to identify and guide “Good Cats” who contribute to the community and strengthen the Jupiverse. The Chinese Working Group will help attract and nurture more community representatives and core members who become advocates and builders of the Jupiverse.

  5. Assist the Jupiter team in translating jup.ag and the Jupiter mobile app into Chinese, making it smoother for Chinese-speaking users to use the platform and better onboarding new users to expand the Chinese market.

  6. We aim to produce even more original Chinese-language videos at higher frequency to promote Jupiter’s culture, help users understand the product and DAO philosophy, and encourage engagement. This will be one of the effective ways to expand the Jupiverse.

  7. During the next stage we plan to add 1-2 contributors and assign them a specific task or two that they handle at their own pace.

We appreciate you taking the time to read this Conclusion Report. Feedbacks are always welcome – feel free to share any thoughts or suggestions. We hope you found the insights as valuable as we did in preparing them. We hope to bring more updates and bangers upon entering the next stage.

Congratulations to the JUP ZH team for paving the way as Jupiter Regional forward-thinking explorers.:people_hugging:

All the metrics shared in this report are truly valuable, they give other regional initiatives a clear benchmark to help align their efforts within their own language spaces.:writing_hand:

In the name of fairness, if their metrics are proportionally on par with what you’ve presented here, there should be no reason for them to be denied a grant.:handshake:

Wishing you all the best going forward. I strongly encourage every member of the JUP DAO community to continue supporting regional initiatives, because it’s through these local, grounded experiences that we build strong and meaningful connections.:flexed_biceps:
